Writing & Weight Loss

Are you curious why I've been talking about writing on my weight loss blog?  Let me take a moment to explain how they are connected.

When I started blogging about weight loss last year, I was in the middle of my 2009 challenge of working out 365 days in a row.  I successfully finished that challenge December 31, 2009. *throws confetti*

During my daily workouts, I found my time on the elliptical as a perfect reading opportunity. It also passed the time. I was going through a lot of books and it was my love of reading that began to spark my interest in writing.

Writing has become an activity I have grown passionate about.  With passion, grows new habits.  While working on a story, my mind is consumed with plot, characters and setting, not food. :) Unfortunately, editing and revision sometimes brings snacking. :(  [I'm still working on this]

As the title of this blog suggests, I write about my weight loss journey. The lessons learned, habits created and new interests found I share here with you because they are a part of the journey, my journey.

  1. *sigh* I'm trying to pluck up the motivation to work on losing weight. I mean, I'm 21 years old and I'm having knee problems. Not good. Maybe I should go through and read some of your posts. The thing is, I already KNOW what I should be doing. It's the whole DOING IT thing that doesn't come so easily... :/

  3. 1. Awesome weightloss journey. I've lost a chunk of weight myself over the last few years, but I'm scared because this last week was the very first time I didn't run once in years. Gotta get a grip.

    2. I totally hear you about revisions bringing on snacking. If you come upon a solution for that, hook me up...

  4. I TOTALLY understand that feeling from breaking routine. Best thing is to not beat yourself up and get back to it. :)

Now that the weather is cold, I find a warm drink helps with the munchies. I like herbal teas or Pero with a splash of milk in a LARGE mug. :)

  5. I can't believe you worked out 365 days in a row! That's amazing : ) I need to get myself on the diet track too. I need to lose about thirty pounds but have a hard time just starting. My mom says that is the hardest part. But 365 days! Now that is a great goal. Hmmmm.... now you've got me thinking if I could do it!

  6. Yes, starting IS the hardest part. I have about 20 more to go and I'm been teetering with half of it. Just didn't get a good start this year to get that last bit off. You aren't alone and YES--you can totally do it!!

    I'm thinking I might make another 365 day goal for 2011. :D
